Riu Hotel - Negril Jamaica...not ECO friendly!
Riu Hotel - Negril Jamaica
What a let down.......
Husband hospitalized - no one even bothered to check how he was.
Children's info sessions on turtles/the environment to discover they still use PLASTIC STRAWS which are littered all over the beach - V Poor! When I challenged a manager I was informed it was because the eco one broke down too quickly - more likely they have stock to use up!
Poor service from TUi Reps in hotel - no planned meet/greet, no one letting you know you can catch a free bus to Margarettiville etc!
Good place to visit if you want your children to see drugs being sold all day/every day on the beach.....
Shame as we have stayed is RIU hotels across the world and yet this experience will make us re-evaluate where we stay / with which hotel chain in the future

We are in the hotel Riu tougereg in…
We are in the hotel Riu tougereg in Cape Verde sadly after three days of being here I caught COVID, we have been requested to stay in the room for 5 days which isn’t nice but we understand the issues. We have been asked to order food via email which is fine but getting the food and drinks is another matter altogether, after 2 hrs of ordering food it still isn’t here which is the norm for this as its now day three of isolation and thing’s haven’t changed. Day three ordered breakfast at 05:58 it’s now 09:04 breakfast has just arrived, we’ll sort off with half of the items missing or not the right quantities.when the food finally arrives is cold and the butter is melted. We keep ringing reception they said they are sorry but it doesn’t seem to get any better worse if anything. We aren’t ordering anything more than what’s on the menu’s to make thing as easy as possible, it’s bad enough having COVID caught from here but it would be nice if they could make a bad situation a little easier. This is the second time I’ve been to this location and would not recommend catching COVID while your here, I have been told there are four rooms already with COVID I can only see this increasing as when they finally bring the food or drinks many of them are not wearing a mask or gloves.
Very sad to write this about a hotel which I enjoyed the first time but they leave me with no other options.

Think about all ages
We have just returned from Riu Reggae in Jamaica having spent 17 nights there.Food very good, shows very good, entertainment very good. Now for the not so very good.
After 22.30 there is no music and dancing for people over 60. The hotel is aimed at the young set, more like the old 18-30 holidays back in the day. We spoke to other holiday makers who have used your hotel two or three years ago and found it very different this time round, there use to be something for all ages but not this time, was the comment. There were a lot of post 60's there during our stay and would have liked more fun after 22.30. It's no good telling us to go to a club till 2am we just wanted some music for us untill 12 midnight. We don't do foam parties any more.if you are allowing us to your hotel you must do better.

Currently staying at the Rui Bravo and…
Currently staying at the Rui Bravo and I would say the moment I walked in I was disappointed. The lobby is dark purple and uninviting. It looks very out dated. I’ve stayed at other Riu resorts and this is a shocker. For it to be DR I expected music playing and even a drink at the door. Nope. The pool bar even stopped serving drinks at 6 and no music there either. Then there is a Pastry Bar in the lobby. Looks unkept, unclean and was half empty when we arrived. At least make it look inviting and clean. We arrived at 5 pm and the only thing open to eat was the sports bar until 6:30 pm. We were starving and the sports bar food was a small buffet half eaten over and looked like it had been sitting there all day. They served hot dogs, burgers and nachos. The rooms!!!!! Outdated, No hand towels and we were placed at the far end of the resort. We are moving now in the morning. As the resort is so large we were exhausted walking to far. If you have kids you might need a stroller. Last the hallways are dirty, only 1 elevator is working and the hallway halls need to be repainted. Looks unkept. The only positive thing so far was the live salsa music at night around 9 and the japanese restaurant was pretty good as well.

Terrible Experience RIU Palace Cabo
Terrible experience in RIU Palace in Cabo. ATM took everyone's card that was inserted--Front desk "said" that they sent email to bank for them to come and retrieve the card--two days later-no card. While waiting to check out, a customer is handed her card from the ATM- I asked if they could check for my card and was told very quickly "NO". Security left without retrieving my card. Had to travel on credit instead of debit.... Front desk kstaff rude and dismissive and could not care about your concerns. still upset about incident.

We stayed at the RIU Paradise Island in…
We stayed at the RIU Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It was the worst experience. Our room had no hot water & the TV didn’t work. We wasted 1.5 days dealing with their attempts to fix the issues to no avail. We finally got upgraded after complaining & the new room was better, but the last day, water from the room directly above us leaked into our room! In addition, the service we received overall was subpar; some staff weren’t helpful or friendly. The food at the buffet was better than some of their restaurants. The steakhouse had the worst sides I’d ever had. The entertainment was OK, but overall there wasn’t much to do in the resort. The plus side was being right by Cabbage beach, the drinks were good, & it was adults only.

I was very disappointed to learn that RIU Hotels is ignoring customers about their lack of a cage-free policy. This is irresponsible and shows how little they care.
While looking for a hotel for my next trip, I came across some controversy surrounding RIU's animal welfare. Apparently they are refusing to adopt a cage-free egg policy and blocking anyone who asks about it. I won't stay at a hotel that blocks concerned customers.
RIU Hotels is falling behind their competitors when it comes to Corporate Social Responsibility. Hundreds of companies have adopted cage-free egg policies to improve animal welfare in their supply chains, but RIU is refusing and there are petitions circling around about this. They would rather ignore the issue and their customers instead of commiting to do better.
I won't stay at a hotel that is ok with severe animal cruelty in their supply chain. After several comments on social media, which they have been deleting, petition signatures, and calls to the company, they are still refusing to go cage-free like their competitors have done.
A company that is allowing one of the cruelest practices in our food industry does not deserve business. Confining animals in cages is a thing of the past and RIU seems to prefer profit over doing the right thing.
Staff giving out false information
On arrival checked with reception regarding extending room prior departure was told it was no problem and to come back night before departure.
Just did this and was rudely told it’s not possible as hotel full however on Booking.com a room can still be booked for next day with availability I can understand our particular room may not be available so enquired about paying and moving to another again rudely told no available rooms. The reception staff are extremely rude and unhelpful very disappointing Rui Tikka Dunas Agadir
NO LOBSTER
Our stay riu las americas was VERY disappointing this time and this usually our favorite resort. Room was street view and tried to get another one and none were available. Sd could get one the next day and that didn't happen. Food was not quality that we normally get there and VERY disappointed that we didn't get lobster. This is one of biggest reasons we stay there. If it wasn't f.or Abu in lobby bar, our wk would of been a total disappointment. Sorry to say that may have been our last stay. Will warn others on my google that lobster isn't available, but still on menu. You need to put this on your website online, so guest will know. If I had known this we WOULDN"T have booked
Battery cages
RIU Hotels supports one of the cruelest practices in our food industry (google 'battery cages'). Confining animals in cages is a thing of the past and RIU seems to prefer profit over doing the right thing.

I was very disappointed to learn that RIU Hotels is ignoring customers about their lack of a cage-free policy. This is irresponsible and shows how little they care. Hens trapped in barren metal cages are suffering at this very moment for RIU meals. Each hen has less living space than a standard piece of printer paper, unable to even do something as natural as spread their wings. Because of the living conditions, hens often die in their cages and are sometimes left to rot in the same space alongside living bird.this is so horrific and heart breaking ! there is no room in 2022 for animal cruelty ! you can do sooooo much better than this RIU!
RIU refuse to commit to free-range…
RIU refuse to commit to free-range eggs. Such a small thing to do, yet such a huge impact on the chickens currently trapped in battery cages. Please show some compassion and empathy and do the right thing. Ban battery eggs in your supply chain.
Supports animal cruelty
Riu refuses to go cage free because they prefer profit over doing the right thing. They are happy for birds to suffer in cages with no space to even spread their wings. Disgusting making money from the suffering and misery of other living beings.
